Adults and youths accused of shoplifting at Chinook Mall

We have charged one adult and one juvenile in connection with a burglary at Chinook Mall last month.

On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., an adult and a juvenile are believed to have entered the bay at the Chinook Mall located at 6455 Macleod Tr. SV stole two expensive winter coats and left the store. As they were pursued by law enforcement officers, the adult suspect allegedly threatened officers with a knife before fleeing the scene.

Store employees contacted the police and the suspects took possession of the stolen goods.

As a result of the investigation, Bobby BURNS, 20, was charged with aggravated assault, theft under $5,000 and carrying a concealed weapon.

One juvenile, 16, was charged with theft under $5,000. He cannot be named under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, March. 5, 2024
