Will Andrei Kuzmenko thrive with the Calgary Flames?

As the NHL regular season returns, people are eager to see how the assets that changed hands between the Vancouver Canucks and Calgary Flames play out.

At the start of the All-Star break, the Flames traded Elias Lindholm to the Canucks. A big piece returning to Calgary was Andriy Kuzmenko, who had a great rookie season but really struggled to find the same level of production in year two, even getting a couple of healthy scratches.

However, the Russian has a chance to start fresh with the Flames, who are still on the fringes of the playoff race. With the opportunity to play more minutes, Kuzmenko can step up his game in his new digs.

Things started off on the right foot as Kuzmenko scored in his first game with the Flames to help the team beat the Eastern Conference-leading Boston Bruins 4-1 on Tuesday night.

On Wednesday's edition of Daily Faceoff LIVE, Colby Cohen and Tyler Yaremchuk talk about how Kuzmenko can step up in Calgary.

Colby Cohen: I think (Kuzmenko) will get a lot of opportunities to play and play a little looser, play a little looser. Where (Canucks coach) Rick Tocchet focused more on the defensive end, checked a little harder, was more responsible. (In Calgary) it's a lot less stressful, the coach has a much more laid-back personality than Rick Tockett.

I'm not really sold on Kuzmenko, but ultimately, do I think he's a long-term play, a long-term solution to their bottom line? I'm not sold at all. I'll have to see more before leaning too heavily on it.
