The 24-year-old Canadian-Dominican first baseman was selected by a three-man panel over the Blue Jays' $18.05 million offer.

As a result, the three-time MLB All-Star son of Baseball Hall of Fame legend Vladimir Guerrero Sr. received a $5.4 million salary increase in 2023.

The previous record MLB salary won in an arbitration hearing was $14 million awarded to Seattle Mariners shortstop Teoscar Hernandez last year.

Guerrero was the 2021 American League MVP, hitting .311 with 48 home runs.

Last year, Guerrero hit .264 with 26 homers, drove in 94 runs and won the MLB Home Run Derby in the MLB All-Star Game, a feat accomplished by his father in 2007.
