Suspected human smuggler arrested – Manitoba Post

WINNIPEG – A 49-year-old resident of Calgary was arrested for human smuggling in Manitoba.

Police say he picked up foreign nationals who had crossed from the US to the province on foot last month.

Officers made a traffic stop near Dominion City after receiving a tip from U.S. border agents about a group heading north with the intention of crossing into Canada.

Police said they found a man driving a car with seven men confirmed to be from the Republic of Chad.
