The Montreal Alouettes have agreed to terms with All-American receiver Tevin Jones and, barring an unforeseen circumstance, he is expected to sign a one-year deal with the team.

The six-foot-two, 225-pound target caught 65 passes for 882 yards and three touchdowns as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders last season. He originally joined the team in 2021, but was released before the start of training camp to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 31-year-old native of Amory, Miss., rejoined the Riders in 2022 and played in 31 games over two seasons with the club, catching 85 receptions for 1,147 yards and six touchdowns.

Jones went undrafted in the 2016 NFL Draft before ending up with the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers and Dallas Cowboys. He appeared in five games with the Steelers in 2019 and had four catches for 61 yards.

The Alouettes open the 2024 season on June 6 when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium.
