Police in Canada have issued a warrant for a third suspect in the brutal shooting death of a mother in Toronto

Police have identified a third suspect in the July 2023 murder of a Leslieville mother who may have fled to Somalia.

Detective Sergeant Henri Marsman confirmed at a press conference Wednesday that Ahmed Ali, 19, of Toronto, is wanted on warrants across Canada for murder and robbery with a firearm.

Carolina Huebner-Makurath was killed by a stray bullet on July 7, 2023, in the area of ​​East Queen Street and Carlaw Avenue.

According to the police, three men got into an argument and two of them drew their guns and opened fire. Hübner-Makurat was getting lunch when he was shot and killed.

Two suspects were identified and charged in July and August last year.

Damian Hudson, 32, was charged July 13 with second-degree murder, and Ahmed Mustafa Ibrahim, 20, was charged Aug. 14 with murder, robbery and probation violation.

This morning, police released photos of Ali, who Marsman described as black, six feet tall, about 130 pounds, with a thin build and long black hair in braids. Police are asking anyone who knows his whereabouts to come forward.

According to Marsman, the fatal incident between the three suspects was the result of a drug-trafficking dispute and Ali may have left Canada.

“We believe he has fled the jurisdiction and is out of the country,” Marsman told reporters.

Police are looking for Ali with partners including Interpol.
