Fans react to Toronto Raptor Scotty Barnes being named to the NBA's Eastern Conference All-Star Team

Toronto Raptors head coach Darko Rajakovic called it from the start when he said Scotty Barnes was going to be a star and now fans are celebrating a new milestone in his career.

On Tuesday, the shooting guard was named as one of two injury replacements for the upcoming NBA All-Star Game.

He will replace Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid and New York Knicks forward Julius Randle along with Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young.

Barnes is averaging career highs of 20.2 points, 8.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists, 1.48 blocks and 1.24 steals in 35.3 minutes in 50 games. This is the first time the 22-year-old has received stardom.

Additionally, he set a career high with 95 three-pointers made in a season and shot a career-high 36.5% from three-point range.

According to the NBA, he joins Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo as the only NBA players with at least 1,000 points, 400 rebounds, 250 assists, 50 blocks and 50 steals this season.

In response, some fans rejoiced at the news and even credited Rajakovic for pointing it out.

The All-Star Game will take place on February 18 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, home of the Indiana Pacers.
