Drivers in Toronto are being warned to take care during “heavy fog.”

Motorists are being advised to use caution on the roads this morning as thick, fog blankets parts of the GTA.

In a fog warning Thursday morning, Environment Canada said travel could be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some areas.

“Due to fog, black ice may form in regions with temperatures below 00 degrees. “Drivers should be careful,” the report said.

Drivers are advised to slow down, check their headlights and be prepared to stop if visibility is reduced.

Fog is expected to lift in the morning and Toronto is expected to be sunny with a high of 7 degrees. Chance of rain at night is 60 percent. On Friday, the temperature will rise to 12 degrees.
