Big recalls at Costco on select salad and chicken | News

Costco is recalling certain food products and wants shoppers to know if they have purchased them.

One of the recalls involves Pinty's Crispy Chicken Breasts (Costco Item # 308344) sold at Costco warehouses between Jan. 8 and Feb. 3, according to Costco's recall notice.

Pinty's Delicious Foods is voluntarily recalling Pinty's Crispy Chicken Breasts “due to possible metal parts,” Costco said.

The recalled product sold by Costco has a best-by date of October 2, 2024.

Two incidents were reported, Costco said.

“There have been no reported cases of illness or injury related to the consumption of this product,” the warning reads.

“Don't consume it,” Costco said. “You may return the recalled product to a Costco warehouse for a full refund.”

Another recall is Taylor Farms Mexican Style Street Corn Chopped Salad Kit (Costco Item #178567) sold at Costco warehouses or Costco Business Centers between Jan. 12 and Feb. 6, Costco said.



Taylor Farms recalls




In a CFIA food recall notice, the affected product is being recalled from the market due to possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

Products from Rizo-López Foods, Inc. in connection with the Listeria monocytogenes outbreak investigation in the United States. made using the returned cheese, the CFIA said.

“Do not consume the Mexican-style street corn salad kit,” Costco said in its recall notice. “You can return it to a Costco warehouse for a full refund.”

“We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused and ask that you forward this letter to anyone who was given this salad kit,” Costco management wrote.

Listeria symptoms usually begin within two weeks of eating Listeria-contaminated food, but can begin as early as the same day or up to 10 weeks later, the FDA says.

Mild symptoms may include fever, muscle aches, nausea, fatigue, vomiting, and diarrhea. If a more severe form of listeriosis develops, symptoms may include headache, neck stiffness, confusion, loss of balance and convulsions, the FDA added.

According to the CFIA, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are especially at risk.

“Check your refrigerators and freezers for recalled products and throw them away. If you find frozen product without its original packaging and you can't tell if it's part of the recall, throw it away,” the FDA added.
