An important announcement regarding the University of Toronto's labor negotiations

TORONTO, February 7, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–The unions representing 8,000 workers at the University of Toronto will make a major announcement Thursday about negotiations with the university and potential effects on the academic year.

Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Locals 3902 and 3261 participate in the announcement. CUPE 3902 represents academic staff, including teaching assistants and postdoctoral fellows, who provide most of the teaching positions and conduct research at the university. CUPE 3261 members include building patrollers, janitors, cooks, servers and kitchen workers, laboratory animal technicians and veterinary technologists, maintenance workers and technicians, and sports facility operators and attendants.
