A fog warning is in effect for southern Quebec

A smog warning is in effect for southern Quebec, including the Montreal area.

The warning covers the following areas:

• Metro Montreal – Laval
• Lachute – St. Jerome
• Lanaudière
• Richelieu Valley – Saint-Hyacinthe
• Vaudreuil – Soulange – Huntingdon

According to Environment Canada, “high concentrations of pollutants are expected and will result in poor air quality this afternoon and tonight.”

Children with asthma and people with respiratory or heart disease should avoid vigorous outdoor physical activity until the smoke warning has been lifted.
