The province allocated $800 million to the Toronto hospital during the workers' demonstrations

Premier Doug Ford and Minister Sylvia Jones announced Tuesday that the province is committing nearly $800 million to build a new patient tower at Toronto West Hospital.

“This new tower will help provide modern and high-quality care to the more than 450,000 people who visit Toronto West Hospital each year,” Ford said.

“Our government is making historic investments to strengthen the health system, with fewer doctors and nurses, fewer beds and shorter waiting times.”
