Police update Leslieville shooting in which Toronto mother was killed by a stray bullet

The police are ready to provide information about the incident A mother of two was shot dead in Toronto A stray bullet hit him in Leslieville.

Toronto police will hold a press conference Wednesday morning at police headquarters to discuss the death of homicide detective Carolina Huebner-Makurat.

Investigators say the 44-year-old woman was shot and killed while walking on Queen Street and Carlaw Avenue around 12:30 a.m. on July 7. The event was near the place of consumption at South Riverdale Community Health Center (SRCHC) following a physical altercation between three men.

Less than a week later, Damian Hudson, 32, of Toronto, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in the shooting. A few weeks later, police said Ahmed Mustafa Ibrahim, 20, of Toronto, was charged with murder, robbery and parole failure.

A third person, a 23-year-old woman from Pickering, also faces additional charges of indictable offense and obstruction of justice. He was identified as an employee of SRCHC.

Police said they are still looking for a third suspect in the shooting.

Investigators will provide an update at 10 a.m
