A Toronto police officer accused of watching porn in a car and stalking a colleague was disgusted

According to disciplinary tribunal documents obtained by CTV News, a Toronto police officer is accused of harassing another female officer with “grabbing gestures,” sharing pictures of naked women with other colleagues and viewing pornography in a police cruiser.

According to the article, Const. Toronto Police Service Officer James Bragg faces four counts of defamation and two counts of insubordination stemming from alleged incidents that took place throughout 2022 and 2023.

In the first incident, which occurred in late 2022, Bragg was accused of viewing pornography while sitting in the passenger seat of a police car.

“While PC Y was using the workstation of the scout car, you were sitting in the passenger seat and viewing pornography on your personal cell phone,” documents obtained by CTV state.

“This behavior made PC Y feel uncomfortable because you were the senior officer.”

In a separate incident, Bragg allegedly showed a colleague a picture of a naked woman on his mobile phone and asked them if they “liked it”.

The documents also describe an incident in March 2023 when Bragg was off duty and drinking with co-workers when he inappropriately touched and chased a female officer.

“Toward the end of the evening, while you were on your way to a karaoke bar with members of your platoon, PC X was being beaten by another member. During this time, you kicked PC X in the buttocks and then punched him in the hand,” the document states.

“PC X jumped off the pig's back and started running, and you followed him with your arms around him. You only stopped when another member of your platoon yelled at you to stop.”

The documents also allege that Bragg made “inappropriate and sexual comments” toward another officer and continued to “talk like that” when asked to “never talk like that again.”

The accusations drew mixed reactions on social media, with people quickly questioning the Toronto Police Service's $1.186 billion net operating budget for 2024, paid leave for officers, and the resources the service needs to effectively report and deal with them. workplace harassment.

Toronto Police Association president John Reed told CTV News that while the association would not comment specifically on the tribunal case, it is seeing “positive changes in the culture of the organization regarding workplace harassment.”

Reid said the community is seeing less tolerance and “a greater willingness to speak up when people are acting inappropriately.”
