MONTREAL – RCMP say a Montreal man made multiple threats after threatening to kill Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in an online message.

Paul Clarisso, 30, will appear in a Montreal courthouse today, according to the federal police force.

The charge follows an investigation by the RCMP's Joint National Security Task Force.

The department launched an investigation on January 31 after the alleged comments were reported and charges were filed.
