A man has died in Dollar-des-Ormeaux in Montreal's West Island

A man was shot and killed in a parking lot in the Dollar-de-Ormeaux neighborhood of Montreal on Tuesday evening, police said.

The victim, about 40 years old, was in a car at the corner of De Sours and Brunswick boulevards.

According to Montreal police, several witnesses heard gunshots.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, but his name has not been released.

The suspect or suspects fled in a vehicle. Montreal police are investigating.
