Calgarian gives cocaine samples at casino: police

A Calgary man has been charged with drug trafficking after handing out business cards with free samples of cocaine at a downtown casino, police say.

According to investigators, on Sunday, December 24, 2023, officers patrolling a downtown casino learned that patrons at the casino had been given business cards.

The card contained the name “Alex Lee” and a small bag containing a suspected sample of cocaine.

Investigators tracked down the suspect, who went by the alias Lee, and gathered evidence throughout January related to drug trafficking involving the suspect and the vehicle he was using.

On Saturday, February 3, 2024, officers stopped a white 2020 Toyota Tundra and arrested the driver.

Officers searched the vehicle and a home on NW Beaconsfield Place where they found several dozen grams of cocaine, individually divided into more than 50 bags, a digital scale with drug residue, $1,280 in cash and business cards belonging to “Alex Lee.” »

Seyed Amir Razavi is currently charged with two counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, one count of possession with intent to sell and three counts of proceeds of crime under $5,000.

The 30-year-old man has been released from custody and will appear in court on Monday, February 26.
