The incident happened on April 27 at the Centex gas station on 4th Street NE in Bridgeland.

According to a previous CPS news release, the man was in the gas station parking lot after the pedestrian fell around 2:45 p.m. that day.

A light-colored minivan drove ahead and pulled out of the parking lot before turning north. When the minivan pulled ahead, the front of his vehicle overturned the pedestrian.

“The minivan stopped and the driver opened the door and looked around and under his vehicle,” CPS said. “He then closed the door, stepped on the walker with the rear wheels and pulled forward.”

After running over the fallen pedestrian, the driver turned east into an alley behind the stable before heading north on Edmonton Trail.

According to CPS, the pedestrian was taken to the hospital with “serious, life-changing injuries” and the pedestrian's disability is being investigated “as a possible factor in the crash.”

Initially, police believed the driver of the minivan was unaware of the pedestrian before the collision.
