Calvin Oatway charged in Calgary flash case

Calgary police have laid charges in connection with an incident in the Huntington Hills community where a man was allegedly seen soliciting a teenager for sex.

Police say the victim was in the men's locker room at the Thornhill Aquatic and Recreation Center on May 5 when a stranger approached him and made “inappropriate sexual comments” while exposing himself.

The victim did not interact with the man and left the dressing room.

“The suspect also left the exchange and sat down in the common area of the recreation center and made further sexually suggestive comments to the victim as he passed by,” the police report said.

Calvin Edwin Oatway, 64, of Calgary, was charged Wednesday with one count of procuring sexual services by a person under the age of 18 and one count of indecent exposure, police said Wednesday.

He is scheduled to appear in court on July 19.
