After success, Lobiko expands the partnership with Calgary

Six months into working with Lobyco, the regional grocery company doubled down on its loyalty program to add to the brand ecosystem and support its patronage program.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark, May 21, 2024–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Lobyco, a global leader in food loyalty programs, today announced the expansion of its relationship with Calgary Co-op, one of the largest retail cooperatives in North America. Following the success of its revamped loyalty program and the launch of its exclusive member app, the category has expanded to include the cross-brand ecosystem and support its patronage program.

Lobyco's work with Calgary Co-op began in September 2023 with a customer loyalty program. Through an easy-to-use mobile app, Calgary Co-op members receive personalized offers based on their purchase history and can play games to find free or deeply discounted items. While in store, customers can use the app to earn Calgary Co-op Bonus Cash on select items, review their digital shopping lists, complete checkout and view their receipt.

Since launching the app and loyalty program, Calgary Co-op has seen more than 100,000 members download and use the app regularly, as well as a significant increase in its acquisition of new members. This success led Calgary Co-op to expand its program with Lobyco.

Calgary Co-op's expanded deal includes a brand ecosystem of retail locations across five categories, including: grocery, fuel, pharmacy, liquor, home health and cannabis.

Customers become members of the Calgary Co-op by purchasing a membership for $1. Through Calgary Co-op's patronage program, customers receive a portion of Calgary Co-op's profits each year in cash and stock, proportional to what they spend in the business' various retail areas. Customers can also track their projected revenue sharing progress throughout the year through the mobile app and receive the previous year's patronage in the app at the beginning of each year.
