CBC's over-the-air broadcasts are back on the air in Winnipeg after being unavailable Tuesday morning due to maintenance work on the transmission tower.

As of 9 a.m. Tuesday, over-the-air TV channels in English and French were unavailable.

Last week, crews inspecting the transmission tower atop the Richardson Building in downtown Winnipeg found a wire that had become loose due to the recent stormy weather.

The suspension of service was necessary so that the climbers could safely carry out their work.
