Calgary Stampeders sign defensive lineman Hamilcar Rashed Jr. – BGMSportsTrax

The Calgary Stampeders signed defensive lineman Hamilcar Rashed Jr. on Monday and released William Langlais after six games with an injury, according to the CFL's transactions page.

Hamilcar Rashed Jr. is two feet tall and weighs 251 pounds. The 26-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona signed with the New York Jets as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2021. He played one game (1 assist) in his rookie season. Rashed Jr. also played for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Seattle Seahawks.

Rashed Jr. played four seasons at Oregon State (2017-20) 143 tackles (91 solo, 52 assists), 36 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, six pass breakups, four forced fumbles, one sack recovery and one blocked. In 43 games for the Beavers. He was named second team All-PAC 12 Conference in 2019.

William Langlais is six foot three and weighs 228 pounds. The 34-year-old from Hull, Quebec, had four punts for 28 yards, one touchdown and three punt returns for 40 yards in 17 games for the Stampeders in 2023.

The Stampeders drafted Langley in the third round (27th pick) of the 2015 CFL draft. In seven seasons in Calgary, Langle has 24 catches for 289 yards, two touchdowns, one carry for three yards, one touchdown, 49 tackles on special teams, one touchdown and one punt for 50 yards in 106 games. Collegiately, Langle played two seasons at Cégep Beauce-Appalaches (2009-11) and Université de Sherbrooke (2012-13).
