Winnipeg police seize guns, cocaine, fentanyl from downtown apartment: WPS

A 23-year-old Winnipeg man is facing several charges after allegedly seizing several weapons, drugs and cash from a downtown apartment early Saturday morning, police said.

Winnipeg Police say they were called to an apartment complex on Cumberland Avenue near Carlton Street around 6 a.m. for a report of a man with a gun.

Police say the man was arrested “without incident.” Three other people inside the suite were also arrested.

WPS says “several items were clearly visible” inside the home. Officers arrested:

  • Police stole Colt .41 revolver;
  • Air pistol (converted to accept 22 rounds of ammunition);
  • folding stick and butterfly knife;
  • Various ammunition;
  • 60 grams of cocaine (estimated value $6,000);
  • 56 grams of fentanyl (estimated street value $8,300);
  • 233 grams of psilocybin (estimated street value $2,300);
  • Packaging materials.

Police said they also seized $2,300.

Caleb Roach, 23, is facing multiple charges, including possession of a firearm while knowing that possession is illegal; possession of specified objects for the purpose of illegal trafficking; and failure to comply with a condition of a release order. He was imprisoned in a temporary detention facility.

A 27-year-old woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance.

A 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been released without charge.
