Winnipeg police seized a stolen firearm and drugs after responding to a gun call

In an early morning operation today, Winnipeg Police arrested four people at an apartment complex in the 300 block of Cumberland Avenue. The arrests were made following a report that an adult male was in possession of a firearm.

Upon arrival, Central District Chief Patrol Police Officers located the suspect and arrested him without incident. Three other adults in the room were also arrested peacefully. During a routine inspection of the apartment, police officers found several visible objects, which were later seized as evidence.

Items seized included a stolen Colt .41 caliber revolver, an air pistol modified to accept .22 caliber ammunition, a folding baton, a butterfly knife and various calibers of ammunition. Officers also seized approximately 60 grams of cocaine, 56 grams of fentanyl and 233 grams of psilocybin, with a street value of approximately $16,600. Additionally, approximately $2,300 worth of Canadian currency and packaging materials were found.

The main suspect, identified as Caleb Roach, 23, of Winnipeg, is facing multiple charges. These include two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm knowing that it is not authorized, two counts of possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition, possession or possession of a firearm or restricted weapon obtained by crime. firearm or prohibited/prohibited weapon or ammunition in violation of a restraining order, possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking – cocaine, two counts of possession of a scheduled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. , and four counts of failure to comply with a condition of release order. Roch was arrested.

A 27-year-old woman arrested during the operation was also charged with possession of a controlled substance. He was released with a notice to leave in accordance with the procedure provided for in the Criminal Code. Two others, a 29-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman, have been released without charge. The Winnipeg Police Service continues to investigate the incident.
