Chaiiwala has opened its first Calgary location

Chaiiwala, the popular UK chain of cafes, has opened its first location in Calgary.

Chaiiwala opened its doors in Calgary's Cityscape neighborhood at 10474 Cityscape Drive NE.

If you're not familiar with the brand, Chaiwala is inspired by the Orient and serves all-day Indian-style breakfast, street food, and a range of tea-based beverages.

The brand's historical roots date back to 1927, when its founding father offered his first teacups on the streets of Delhi.

In 2016, the next generation of the Chayiwala family opened their first location in the UK using their great-grandfather's special recipe.

The Cityscape outpost is Chaiwala's 11th Canadian location and 106th worldwide.

Calgary plans to get two additional Chaiwala outposts in the near future, including the University of Calgary Dining Hall and the Carrington Community.
