Winnipeg man charged with sexually assaulting and seducing minors

In April 2024, the Winnipeg Police Service's sex crimes unit began investigating separate incidents involving the seduction of two teenage female victims. The suspect, who introduced himself as a 17-year-old man on social networks, gained the trust of the victims, established a relationship, and then engaged in sexual activities.

Investigators have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Kalib Nasib DEBUSCHER of Winnipeg. He was arrested on May 14, 2024 without incident.

DEBUSSCHERE was charged with two counts of sexual assault, two counts of sexual intercourse and two counts of solicitation of a person under 16 by telecommunication. He was released by a court order prohibiting communication with persons under the age of 18, as provided for in the Criminal Code.

The investigation is ongoing. The Winnipeg Police Service is urging anyone with information or who would like to speak with an investigator to call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 204-986-6245 or at 204-786-TIPS or winnipegcrimestoppers.org.
