Manitoba Weather: Unsettled conditions remain in the province

As the week continues, unsettled weather in Manitoba will change on Thursday.

Much of the south will see similar conditions this afternoon, including Winnipeg and Brandon.

In these areas, look for a mix of sun and clouds in the upper twenties with pleasant daytime highs or lows in the 20s.

But due to continued instability, there is a risk of showers and thunderstorms this afternoon and tonight.

To the northwest, fighting wildfires near Cranberry Portage should get some help from showers expected there today.

In the south, Pasta has seen light rain for most of the day and is expected to continue today and tonight. But there is also the danger of lightning, which can cause unwanted lightning strikes.

Showers are expected in the north as well as in Flin Flon without the threat of thunderstorms.

As we get closer to the long weekend in Winnipeg, it's going to be mostly wet.

Rain is likely on Victoria Day on Saturday and Monday, with daytime highs in the mid-teens on both days.

The bright spot then is Sunday, with sunshine in the low 20s.
