Lower Springbank Road has ended in a fatality

RCMP have closed a section of Lower Springbank Road west of Calgary for a fatal crash.

The collision occurred at Lower Springbank Road and Township Road 242, leaving the area impassable.

“Traffic is expected to be detoured for some time while the RCMP investigate,” said a press release Thursday. “RCMP are asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.”

Calgary EMS confirmed to CTV News that the crash was fatal.
