Family and friends are mourning couple Teigan Robin and David Hewison, who were killed in a highway crash on Sunday northwest of Lethbridge, Alberta.

According to close friends, Robin and Hewison were returning to Lethbridge after celebrating Mother's Day with loved ones in Calgary.

“What we noticed from both of them was that (they) wanted everyone to feel comfortable and welcome, no matter who you were or where you came from or anything like that,” said close friend Andrew Smith.

“She was full of life and full of joy, and if there was anything you cared about, she was there for you,” said close friend Gaby Ouellette.

“He was really excited about it… Even if he wasn't, he was just excited that you were excited.”

Robin and Hewison have been dating for six years and friends say they have plans to marry one day.

The accident happened around 10:30 pm on May 12th at Highway 519 and Range Road 255 near Willow Creek MD.
