A car has crashed in front of Little Caesars in northwest Calgary

On Thursday afternoon, a car plowed into Little Caesars in northwest Calgary, smashing a front window in what police say was an accident — something that could have been much more serious at a different time of day, Wong said.

Just after 12 noon on Thursday, Calgary Police were called to the Calgary Fire Department at Little Caesars at 18 Panatella Blvd. NW, a vehicle crashed into a building.

In a statement to Postmedia, the Calgary Police Service said the driver was evaluated at the scene as a precaution, but no injuries were reported.

Police said the incident was not criminal and they are still investigating what caused the crash. According to the police, the accident was not related to a medical condition.

Despite sharing a wall with Little Caesars, Wong said there was no damage to his store and business was able to resume business as usual Thursday afternoon.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, Wong said. Just down the road, students at North Trail High School were usually flooded at Little Caesars and other restaurants along the strip mall during their lunch break, which began when the crash happened.

“If it had been about 10, 15 minutes later, students would have been waiting in line for pizza … someone could have been injured,” he said.
