High River RCMP are investigating a fatal crash involving a train and a pickup truck

One person is dead after a train hits a truck south of Calgary.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. Sunday, February 4, at 176 East Street in Foothills County.

According to High River RCMP, the pickup truck was crossing the tracks when it was struck by a train and hit the passenger side of the vehicle.

The driver, a 27-year-old Okotoks resident, was pronounced dead at the scene.
