Calgary is under a fog warning for Wednesday

Fog will continue to affect much of Calgary and southern Alberta on Wednesday, reducing visibility.

Environment Canada and Climate Change (ECCC) issued the advisory Tuesday night.

According to the agency, the situation is expected to improve in the afternoon.

However, possible freezing rain can make surfaces slippery.

The ECCC is expecting a repeat of fog and freezing rain in some areas on Wednesday night, and travel is expected to be hazardous in some areas.

If visibility is reduced while driving, motorists are advised to slow down, watch tail lights and be prepared to stop.

According to the ECCC, fog warnings are issued when visibility is near zero or occurs in fog.
