Calgary has completed its longest public hearing on a city-wide rezoning

After more than two weeks, the largest public hearing in Calgary's history has come to an end.

Just after 9:15 p.m. Monday night, Calgary Mayor Jyoti Gondek closed the city-wide rezoning hearing, but not before hearing from 736 speakers and 238 panels.

The City Council received 6,101 written submissions, which are now part of the public record.

The city says it will present the results of a week-long public hearing to the council Thursday morning.
