A sunny, warm week ahead for Calgary

Seasonal temperatures will remain in Calgary through the work week as high pressure continues to affect the weather in southern Alberta.

Temperatures are expected to hover around 4C on Bank Holiday Monday, with plenty of sunshine and light south-easterly winds.

At night, Calgary will cool down to -6 degrees with clear skies.

A different story plays out for communities west of the Rocky Mountains.

A low pressure system is tracking across the states and will bring light snow to parts of the East and West Kootenays Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Snow totals look low for the most part, with areas like Cranbrook expecting 2 to 4 inches.

Models predict the mountain range should block snow from the Calgary area, but some areas northwest of the city near the northern foothills could see some snow from the system.
