Here are the major road closures in and around Montreal this weekend, with the South Decari closure lifted

Those planning to travel in and around Montreal this weekend should be aware that major closures are planned for several parts of the city.

The funeral of former prime minister Brian Mulroney will lead to road and parking closures in downtown Montreal.

The good news for motorists is that the planned work on the South Decari Expressway (A-15) has been suspended and there will be no road closures.

Decarie Expressway (A-15) South – WORK CANCELED

Work originally planned for the Decari Expressway South (A-15) between the Highway 40 interchange and the Jean Talon Street exit has been suspended. As a result, the roadway will be open on weekends.

Decari Expressway (A-15) North

Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6 a.m. the following closures will be in place:

  • North Decari Expressway (A-15) between Turcot and Decari Junction.

Decarie Expressway (A-15) North will be closed overnight from March 22 to March 25, 2024.As a result, the following are the default closures at the Turcot interchange:

  • Highway 20 East, Highway 15 North and the Ville-Marie Expressway (R-136) are ramps to north Decari.
  • Entrance on rue Saint-Jacques.

Turkot exchange will be closed overnight from March 22 to March 24, 2024.

Decari Blvd

Friday and Saturday from midnight to 6 a.m. the following closures will be in place:

  • South Decary Boulevard between East Côte-de-Liss Road (interchange) and Jean-Talon Street entrance.

There will be a number of parking restrictions and road closures on Friday and Saturday until 4pm on Saturday.

Between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, vehicles are not allowed to:

  • Boulevard René-Lévesque from Cote du Beaver Hall and rue Jeanne-Mance.
  • Rue de Bleury from Boulevard Rene-Lévesque West to Rue Saint-Antoine West.
  • From the west of rue Saint-Antoine and rue Saint-Pierre from rue Notre-Dame.

On Saturday, from 7 am to 4 pm, vehicles cannot enter these blocks:

  • St. Antoine Street is west to north.
  • Boulevard Saint Laurent to the east.
  • St. Paul Street is west to south.
  • St. Pierre Street to the east.

Laviolette Bridge / Highway 55 (Trois-Rivières)

From 8pm to 11am Friday to Saturday and from 6pm to 6.30am Monday to Monday the following route changes will be in effect:

  • Between Trois-Rivières and Becancourt, two of the four lanes will be open in one direction.

Hickmore Street (Highway 520 Sector)

  • Highway 520 (Côte-de-Lisse) flyovers above Hickmore Street will continue on March 25. Work will continue until the end of 2024.
