WestJet will increase service to Calgary and Vancouver this summer

WestJet also added another flight to Vancouver to meet demand for summer travelers. This flight is operated by a Dash 8-400 and departs Prince George at 4:25 PM.

Gordon Duke, president and CEO of Prince George's Airport, said they hope WestJet's upgraded Calgary flight will be extended into the winter schedule, giving people in the region access to WestJet's vacation market during the winter months.

As more people travel and take to the skies, it could provide opportunities for growth at YXS, including more airlines adding new routes in the future and other airlines expanding their market to Prince George, but it also comes with challenges. .

“I think the airlines want to grow and put more capacity into this market. They don't have flight crews. So the message is: if you're thinking about becoming a pilot, go for it, because now is the time. – Gordon Duke, President and CEO, Prince George's Airport Authority

Duke also said WestJet's YXS to Puerto Vallarta flight was busy last winter, and YXS hopes to offer the flight again next year.
