Founded in 2017 by sisters Miriam Maguire and Romy Belzile-Maguire, the cool-girl-approved Canadian footwear and accessories brand has built a fan base for its stylish, European footwear.

And now, the duo is bringing the collection to Vancouver for a limited time with designer Elisa Faulkner in a pop-up Vancouver performance. Taking place at Decade Studios (88 West 8th Ave., Vancouver, #100), home of the sustainable denim brand of the same name, the pop-up shop will be open May 11-12 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

“Vancouver residents are very fashion-forward and love to express their unique style with fun and personal looks,” says Miriam Maguire. “Given the city's emphasis on outdoor living, our footwear's combination of comfort and original design resonates naturally.”

The Maguire Shoes team will then take their shoes south of the border to a pop-up shop at 210 South Washington St. in Seattle from May 17-19, along with fellow Vancouver-based brand Nettle's Tale, who will join Decade Studio for the shopping event.

The pop-up stores will offer matching and dressable styles with a focus on new styles for spring and summer. (This fashion editor points to the brand's Velada Flats and Palma boots as two personal favorites of the brand.) According to the company, the shoes are available for purchase and shipping.

“Our pop-up strategy is not just about selling shoes; it's about making lasting connections with local communities and tapping into the fashion and design scenes,” says Maguire. “Through these connections, we support each other's growth and expand our reach by collaborating with independent and women-led brands.

“For example, Eliza Faulkner and myself will be hosted by Decade Studios for the Vancouver stop, and then we'll be traveling with Decade and Tales of the Hemlock for the Seattle stop. We're also partnering with Bronze Age and Wolf Circus for our LA pop-up later this season.

The company's third West Coast pop-up will hopefully spark interest in a possible Vancouver storefront for the shoe brand in the future. The company currently operates boutiques in Montreal, Toronto and New York.
