Accident in St. Vital kills woman

A Winnipeg woman has died after a crash in the city's St. Vital area over the weekend.

The pedestrian-vehicle crash happened around 12:40 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Road and Chesterfield Avenue.

Winnipeg Fire Paramedics transported the pedestrian, a 38-year-old woman, to hospital in critical condition. He died from his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and spoke with police.

The traffic department is currently investigating.
