Shooting in Lachine, Montreal, two people in hospital

Two men were sent to hospital after a shooting in Montreal's Lachine neighborhood on Sunday night.

Montreal Police (SPVM) responded to a shooting on 42e Avenue near St. Joseph Boulevard around 11:20 p.m.

Two 28- and 33-year-old men were found unconscious at the scene, their upper body injured.

“When the police arrived at the scene, they found two victims,” ​​said Caroline Chevrefils, spokeswoman for the SPVM. “One inside the car, one outside.”

The victims, who knew each other and had no criminal records, were taken to hospital and police say their lives are not in danger.

Chevrefils said one or more suspects shot the victims and then fled the scene in a vehicle.

No arrests were made, police officers spoke with witnesses.

An investigation is underway.
