A Calgary co-op has broken ground on a retail complex in Cochrane, a new community of Greystone. The six-acre site selected is part of a 150-acre former gravel pit owned by Burnswest Properties, which is developing it into a residential community that will house approximately 1,800 residents during construction.

Located adjacent to the Spray Lakes Sawmills Family Sports Center, the partnership will bring a 42,000-square-foot convenience store with a pharmacy to Cochrane. It includes a Co-op Wine Spirits beer retail store, a cannabis location and a convenience store, as well as a six-pump gas station and dual-fuel car wash.

The co-op already owns and operates Cochrane's Wine Spirits Beer Store, located in Morley Plaza in the Heartland community off Highway 1A.

B&A Planning Group was responsible for the urban plan. Designed by Calgary office Zeidler Architecture, the Co-op complex has been awarded to CANA Construction as the builder and is expected to welcome buyers by the summer of 2025.
