Calgary police hope dash cam footage will solve the Crescent Heights murder

Calgary police have released images of a pickup truck they believe was used in last week's fatal shooting in the Crescent Heights community.

According to police, around 8:30 p.m. on April 1, offenders fired several shots at a vehicle parked in an alley in the 300 block of Northeast 16th Avenue.

The victim, 26-year-old Majed Ahmed Zulfiqar, was stabbed several times and died.

On Wednesday, police released images of a stolen 2011 GMC Sierra truck they say the criminals drove away from the crime scene east on 16th Avenue toward Edmonton Trail.

The vehicle was taken from a home in the Priddis area between 9.30pm on March 30 and 4am on March 31.

It was found abandoned after the shooting.

Investigators are asking anyone who saw the vehicle between March 30 and April 1 to contact them.

They are also looking for a video camera on either eastbound or westbound 16th Avenue between 10th Street NW and Deerfoot Trail NE between 8 and 9 p.m. on April 1.
