The Manitoba 55+ Games The host committee needs volunteers to join the team for the upcoming games in Brandon. Everyone has a role to play, whether it's helping out at check-in, assisting with various activities or helping to transport items to venues. The games will be played from June 18 to June 20, with additional installation work starting on June 16. Volunteers of all ages are welcome, from teenagers to seniors. Individuals, families and groups of friends are encouraged to volunteer. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively are assets. Sailing in Manitoba Volunteers are needed to join its board as directors-at-large. Those elected are committed to the board and committee's code of conduct, which reflects the organization's commitment to representing Manitoba's diverse communities. The skills required range from strategic planning to marketing, as does a background in competitive speed sailing, but all qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. The role promises experience in management, policy development and event planning. It requires attendance at evening and weekend board meetings (virtual or face-to-face) for a period of three years. First tea is Prairie Assistant Golf Coaches are needed to help deliver the First Tee program. They work to provide venues, participants and parents/guardians with the tools they need, from managing equipment to promoting the benefits of the program. They also mentor young participants in volunteering and fundraising. No experience is necessary as training is provided along with certificates in safe sport and respect in sport. Volunteers must be over 18 and attend evening and weekend sessions from May to September. Expenses are reimbursed and background checks are required. Ronald McDonald House Charities Manitoba Service-oriented, reliable volunteers are needed to join its team to support families during difficult times. Volunteers have the opportunity to perform a variety of tasks such as home tours, cooking, and light administrative duties. Shifts are flexible, with daytime, evening and weekend participation options available. A minimum of one shift commitment every two weeks is required at the Winnipeg location. A criminal record and child abuse check is required, the cost of which is reimbursed. Apply by December 31 at http://wfp.to/yOu.

The TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival volunteers are needed. Roles available include cashiering, merchandising, bar working, stage and set-up, running raffles and surveys, event security and supporting environmental initiatives. Must be over 18 and willing to work at least 20 hours in four to five shifts during the festival, which runs from June 14 to June 22. Day, evening and weekend shifts available. The Canadian Association of Health Libraries Need help with annual conference. It's taking place in Winnipeg from June 11th to the 14th. No experience is necessary in health libraries, a training session will be held before the conference. French speakers are encouraged to apply, but conference proceedings will be primarily in English. A variety of roles are available, including registration desk assistants and runners. Must be 18 or older and commit to at least one two-hour shift during the conference. Apply by June 4 at http://wfp.to/yvi.

Valley Gardens Community Center Volunteers are needed for the annual Family Fun Day on June 8. Enthusiastic and friendly volunteers man the activity stations, help with clean-ups and act as ambassadors for the club. No special skills are required, but volunteers must be over 18 years of age. The event is from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Any contribution of time is appreciated. Email [email protected] by June 5.

Beausejour Daylily Gardens “garden angels” are needed. Volunteers must have a passion for the great outdoors and not be afraid to get their hands dirty. Volunteers take over part of the nursery and are provided with all the necessary equipment and instructions. The program is designed to fit volunteers' schedules. Must be 16 or older. Small groups of family and friends and large corporate or school groups are encouraged to apply. Apply by October 31 at [email protected] or 204-266-1311.
