2 people shot by Lachine are in the hospital

Two men, ages 28 and 33, are in hospital after a shooting in Montreal's Lachine district.

The Montreal Police Department (SPVM) received a 911 call about a shooting on 42e Avenue near St. Joseph Boulevard at 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

“When police arrived at the scene, they found two victims; one inside the vehicle and one outside,” Montreal police spokeswoman Caroline Chevrefils said. “They were taken to the hospital, despite their serious injuries, we do not fear for their lives.”

Officers who spoke with witnesses said one or more suspects shot the victims before fleeing the scene in a vehicle.

Chevrefils said the two victims knew each other and had no criminal records.
