Two stabbings overnight in Montreal

Two men were stabbed in separate incidents in Montreal early Saturday morning.

According to Montreal police (SPVM), one of the stabbings involved a cellphone robbery.

Around 1:10 a.m., officers were called to the Langeliers metro station in the Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district.

Upon arrival, they found a 20-year-old man with multiple stab wounds to his arms and hands.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested at the scene.

Police are reviewing CCTV footage to learn more about the robbery and stabbing.

Around the same time, on Saturday morning, another person was stabbed in the Ville-Marie area.

The 29-year-old victim was attacked after leaving a building on Clark Street near Boulevard Rene Levesque.

He was taken to hospital with lower body injuries. According to SPVM, his life is not in danger.

No arrests have been made, the investigation is ongoing.
