Montreal police have named a suspect in a Pointe St. Charles stabbing

Editor's note: CBC has identified the victim in this case as a man, based on information provided by Montreal police. After speaking with a family member and a close friend, we changed the pronouns to reflect how the victim self-identifies.

The incident happened around two o'clock in the morning in an apartment on Mullins Street

Police initially said Lindor was an important witness, but now consider him a suspect.

A family member identified the victim as Sissy Tibert, a transgender woman.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Lindor, who is wanted on a charge of second-degree murder, police said.

The suspect was seen on security cameras in the lobby of the Mullins Street apartments wearing a black coat, black pants and a black sweatshirt with “Nike” written on the chest in white letters.

Anyone with information on Lindor's whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Montreal Police Crime Information Unit at 514 393-1133.
