LONDON (AP) — Chelsea beat West Ham 5-0 in the Premier League on Sunday to boost their chances of qualifying for Europe next season.

Nicholas Jackson scored twice at Stamford Bridge as Mauricio Pochettino's side moved up to seventh in the table and two points behind sixth-placed Newcastle.

The win took Chelsea's tally of goals scored in their last six home games in front of their own fans to 22, maintaining their impressive recent run of goals.

“It's true that last season was difficult for everyone here, and this season it's difficult to change the feeling and the performance,” said Pochettino. “We needed time for everyone to trust the process and we restored good feelings at Stamford Bridge.”

Chelsea were 3-0 up at half-time after Cole Palmer scored his 26th goal in all competitions in the 15th minute. Conor Gallagher scored the second in the 30th minute and Noni Madueke the third six minutes later.

Jackson scored in the 48th and 80th minutes to take his tally to 16 on the season and three in the last two games.

The win marked Chelsea's first league win since January.

West Ham's defeat means they could miss out on Europe, leaving David Moyes' side in ninth place, five points behind Chelsea, with just two games remaining this season.
