WINNIPEG, MB. – The Winnipeg Blue Bombers announce today that the club has signed eight options for its 2024 CFL draft, including Kevens Clercius, Gabe Wallace, Kyle Samson, Ian Leroux, Ethan Kalra, AK Gassama, Michael Vlahogiannis and Owen Hubert.

Clercius (6-2, 217, University of Connecticut; born Oct. 7, 1999, Montreal, Quebec) played in 37 games over three years with the UConn Huskies, catching 49 passes for 604 yards and five touchdowns.

The son of Haitian immigrants, Clercius lost his mother to illness when he was 14 and arrived with almost no English, but enrolled in language classes before school started and landed a scholarship to UConn.

Wallace (6-6, 333, University at Buffalo; born January 9, 2000, Salmon Arm, BC) has played in 49 career games with the Bulls after redshirting with the team in 2018. He was a three-year starter. 28 games at guard, seven games at left tackle, two games at right tackle. He was named All-MAC third-team as a senior in 2022 while playing only left guard, helping the Bulls finish in the top five in total offense.

Samson (6-3, 290, Columbia University; born Nov. 14, 2000, Hamilton, ON) played in 25 career games with the Thunderbirds during his four years with the team. He recorded 6.5 sacks and 48.5 total tackles as well as an interception during his UBC career. He was a two-time U SPORTS Second Team All-Canadian (2023, 2022), a two-time Canada West All-Star (2023, 2022) and won the 2023 Hardy Cup and Mitchell Bowl.

Leroux (6-1, 225, Laval University; born May 6, 1999 in Quebec City, QC) is set to return to Laval next season. In four seasons with Laval, Leroux appeared in 29 games, recording 14 tackles and one interception. He won the 2022 Dunsmore Cup, Mitchell Bowl and Vanier Cup.

Kalra (6-2, 309, University of Waterloo; born March 27, 2000, Acton, ON) is a 2023 East-West Bowl participant (Team West) and has played in all 29 games of his four-year career. Warriors. Kalra began his college career at right tackle before moving to right field as a sophomore.

Gassama (5-9, 158, University of Manitoba; born: October 13, 1999, Winnipeg, MB) came to Winnipeg as a refugee, grew up in Sierra Leone during the civil war, and moved to Canada as a young child. In 2017, he earned a scholarship to the U of M and became the seventh player in program history to record 100 catches and 1,000 receiving yards in 2022. Vlahogiannis (6-3, 312, McGill; b. Nov. 11, 1998, Montreal, QC) was named a 2023 RSEQ All-Star and was a participant in the 2023 East-West Bowl (East Team) during his year as a redshirt. started seven games in eight games and helped his team rack up 1,193 rushing yards. In four years with the Redbirds, Vlahogiannis played 19 games at center.

Hubert (6-4, 263, McMaster; born March 1, 2000, Norwood, ON) played four seasons with the Marauders, saw action in 27 games and recorded 65 total tackles (42 solo, 23 assists). In his senior year, Hubert recorded five sacks and a forced fumble and was selected to the 2022 East-West Bowl.
