Toronto police are looking for a man they are investigating in a violent incident

Police are searching for a man wanted in a downtown Toronto assault investigation who is also wanted on other previous warrants.

Toronto police said Monday they received a report of a physical altercation in the area of ​​Bathurst Street and Fort York Boulevard, south of West Front Street.

The suspect and the victim got into an argument when the suspect, who was armed with a knife, threatened him.

Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Tristan Bruguirou. He is wanted on two counts of assault, two counts of menacing, one count of causing bodily harm, use of a weapon, forceful restraint and strangulation.

Police describe Brugirou as five-foot-seven with a medium build and brown hair.

“If found, do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately,” police said in a statement released Wednesday.
