Man stabbed on Winnipeg bus after racial slur: police

Winnipeg police say one person is in hospital after being stabbed at the Osborne Transit Station Tuesday night.

WPS says officers responded to the transit station around 8:45 p.m. after receiving a report of a man being stabbed.

Arriving at the scene, law enforcement officers provided emergency medical care until emergency personnel arrived.

A man in his 20s was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but his condition improved.

According to the police, at the initial stage of the investigation, it is suspected that the man who was stabbed was threatened and raped by another passenger of the bus. The threats reportedly included racial slurs.

WPS described the suspect in the incident as a 20-30-year-old man with a slim build.
