Air Transat's 2,100 flight attendants called for a third vote

Air Transat's 2,100 flight attendants in Montreal and Toronto will be asked to vote again, this time on the recommendation of brokers involved in the case, rather than by prior agreement.

They have no intention of going on strike.

Based in Montreal and Toronto, these flight attendants are members of the local branch of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE), which is part of the FTQ.

A first agreement in principle to renew the collective agreement was reached in mid-December, when a strike threatened in early January. But members rejected it by 98.1 percent. No strike has been announced.

The parties returned to the negotiating table in early January.

A second agreement in principle was reached on January 7. It was rejected again, this time by 81.9 percent.
